Video & Animation Production

Our team provides animation, live action videography, photography, illustration, motion graphics, kinetic type and sound design services and we continually update our abilities with the latest tools and techniques so we are ready and willing to push past traditional boundaries. Projects include: documentaries, testimonials, commercials and ads, PSAs, educational and training videos, social media content, event and conference presentations and documentation, corporate explainers and product promos.

How We Do It

Both animated and live action video projects involve unique processes but they share these general production steps:

We’ll work with you to build a strong foundation for the video by asking a lot of questions: What is the main point you want to deliver? Who is your audience? Where will the video be deployed? Will the video be based on a script and storyboard or will it use unscripted interview footage and b-roll to build a narrative? What is the budget for the video, series or campaign?

We’ll make sure that we are thoroughly familiar with your organization’s brand so we can offer informed suggestions for a video format, tone and style that will blend with and support your existing materials.

We put together a production schedule to keep all of us on track with project steps and proofing. For live action, we help recruit participants, develop interview questions and prepare people to be on camera, contract the camera crew and scout and secure shooting locations.

For animated videos, a script, storyboard and illustration style will be created for your input and approval. For live action videos, we prepare a detailed shot list and rough storyboard so when we go out to shoot we are sure to cover everything we will need.

For animated videos, we build and prepare the artwork for being moved (rigging) and develop text and scene transitions. Then we animate all elements, record the narration and design the audio track. For live action, we will either be in a studio or out in the field with a crew capturing narrative footage and b-roll.

For animated videos, we finetune movement and transitions at this stage and finesse the audio tracks. For live action, we log (label) all the captured footage and edit the pieces together with graphics and animated typography (ex: open and closing cards, lower thirds). We render master video files and compress and deliver final high resolution mp4s per client and platform specs.
