Project Overview
Recently, Uptown Studios had the opportunity to create two new PSA’s for the Sacramento County Coalition for Youth’s (SCCY) Future Forward campaign. After extensive research and focus groups with dozens of teens in the Greater Sacramento Area, the feedback was unanimous: what the teens wanted was something they could connect and relate to.
Taking all that information into consideration, we created two cinematic, yet real, representations of two different SCCY youth members and made them relatable. The shoot took two days in four locations and the result was beautiful.
The Uptown Studios Video Team brought all our video toys to the table on this project, dolly, Steadicam, gimbal, Sony FS7, and Sony A7sii. We shot everything in S-log 3 Cine and did the color grading and post-production in Premiere Pro. Looking back at the final result, the Uptown Studios Video Team is especially proud of the lighting.
Wanting a very natural, yet cinematic, feel for the school shots, the video team switched it up with some dramatic lighting to grab the viewer’s attention. It was great to work with such solid youth who believe in the message.
