1. Smile
When you are crazy busy it is the easiest time to snap at the people around you. STOP, think of what you sound like. Someone can ask if they can help when I am crazy busy and I feel like snapping at them – NO just leave me alone. But Don’t – Smile and say thanks so much for offering and remember people want to help out – so let them when you can.
2. Take a walk
Lucky us, we are half a block from McKinley Park and it is a wonderful head clearing walk around the park to set a better space for yourself. Life is short, take a walk and enjoy a moment – it is only 10 minutes.
3. Review your life
Sometimes it feels like everything is going wrong. That is never true, take a minute and review your life. Get to the real deal: are you healthy, is your family happy, is your car running smoothly, do you have a good job? Do a personal reality check, it is never ALL going wrong. Thank your lucky stars – you have a healthy mind, now use it.
4. Let go
You cannot control every thing in your universe, nor would you really want to. Let it go, let someone else take it on, share and delegate. Look up, you are surrounded with people happy to help if you ask them – don’t forget to say thanks.
5. Accept people where they are
Is there something you can do to build a relationship in your work group that will show your support of others? Is there two minutes you can space to get someone a cup of coffee that is stressing. Helping others for a minute can change your day – try it.
We are all crazy busy sometimes, don’t make the people around you suffer because you don’t think you have the time to be kind – you do have the time, just find a moment to respond calmly and thankfully.
I am thankful for all my co-workers and the help they are consistently offering me – even when I am stressed. I am always happy to stop and help them when they need me to spend a moment with them.
