I celebrate Thanksgiving in the tradition of giving thanks for all the blessings that I have received through the year. The struggles of 2020 have been outrageous. I want to thank everyone that is out there doing their very best – every single day, to rise up and beat this thing. Thanks to all the friends and cohorts that reach out to help. Thanks to all the individuals who choose to shop locally and help all the small businesses survive the crush of COVID which has changed how we do business.

2020 is a special year to really stop a moment and bring forward all the gratitudes we need to keep in mind. I am so thankful to all of our clients for moving forward with projects. In March of 2020 I made a promise to our team to keep them employed and continue to build a secure business for them to be a part of – and because of all our clients, old and new, we are hanging in there, safe and securely.

I want to thank the team of Uptown Studios for working so hard and being so creative on the projects we take on. There have been so many that are connected to COVID and helping our communities be safe and to keep their families safe. Our team has done some exceptional work to push out reminders to our communities to Mask Up, keep a safe distance, wash your hands, and stay away from large groups – and they have been effective in the messaging we created. We worked on the Census 2020 and Sacramento County which we exceeded the goals set in 2010 and we are proud of the work we were able to contribute to that campaign, and grateful to all the wonderful people we met along the Census Adventure. Through COVID and a lot of punting, we were a fabulous team and loved every minute of it (well – almost every minute) We supported the protestors by hosting a really wonderful Protest Poster Campaign and showing support for BLM and all you do and all your deserve. We hosted a fun VOTE Poster campaign that was totally donated and met over 35 super talented artists that submitted posters for distribution, we partnered with Fruitridge Printing and Oak Park Brewing and BWS to build community around voting.

Great Job team Uptown and all the community partnerships we build along the way! I love Sacramento, I adore the team at Uptown Studios – thanks for all the hours you have put in, and the happiness you share with your team.

I am so grateful to my family and friends. In spite of COVID we seem to be able to stay connected – differently, but still able to share our love for each other. I wish you each the best Thanksgiving and let’s plan on sharing all the fixings in July 2021!

Cheers to a slower Thanksgiving, a smaller gathering, one where the love flows out through every window into your circle of family and friends that can’t gather with you this year.
