Community giving is all about bringing people together and working towards a common goal. Rather than donating funds, your organization can develop fundraising events to raise awareness of a local cause, encourage community unity as well as raising money for the cause.

Community giving is beneficial for your company for many different reasons. For example, it can help to improve your organization’s image in the eyes of the community. This can help make your organization a better place for your employees to work and they will feel more rewarded from the work they are doing. It also makes your community a better place for people to live because of all of the community giving that has taken place. There are many more benefits for community giving such as:

  • Boosting Morale.
  • Creating Goodwill.
  • Building Camaraderie Among Employees.
  • Improving Your Community.
  • Networking.
  • Attracting and Retaining Good Employees..
  • Tax Advantages.
  • Providing a Purpose

Community giving is at the core of everything we do here at Uptown Studios. We were founded with the purpose to promote social change and give back to the community. Month after month, we aim to seek out potential community giving opportunities. For example, this year, we will be planning a sock drop from October 1st – December 16th to collect socks for men, women and children in need. Hosting community giving events, like this, year after year can improve your community’s perception of your organization.

Easy Community Giving Ideas

Community giving doesn’t need to be the biggest, most extravagant event your community has seen in years. It can be as simple as having a box outside of your location to collect blankets for homeless individuals in your community. Next time your organization is looking for some new community giving ideas, keep in mind some of these ideas to implement:

  • Clothing collections
  • Trash clean up events
  • Offer a scholarship for local students
  • Let your customers vote on where your next donation goes
  • Sponsor a fundraising event
  • Host a recycling event
