In the wake of the brutal murder of George Floyd and the protests that followed after, Uptown Studios launched a protest poster project to support small businesses that had resorted to using plywood boards to help protect against damages from looters. The brainchild of Tina Reynolds and Jill Bruschera, the protest posters featured positive messages in support of Black Lives Matter, quotes from the great Martin Luther King Jr, and tributes to George Floyd.
The posters were created by friends and employees of Uptown Studios while Jill got a crew together to hang them up and down J and K streets in Midtown Sacramento where most of the windows were boarded up. A very special thanks to Jill Bruschera for the great idea and all the awesome artists that donated their time and talent.
When the boards come down the art comes down, so we thought we’d share those designs with you here.
