kate-circle-1As multimedia director here at Uptown Studios I put together a list of ways you can use iPad apps for video production. I oversee an experienced team of videographers, audio and lighting specialists and voice talent to create training videos, testimonials and commercials for our clients.

A couple of new tools I use on a regular basis are Movie Slate and Telepromt+, both are apps that work on my iPad and each adds ease to the the production process.

Movie Slate is an app that I use on multi-camera shoots to sync the video with an audio and visual cue. This classic clapboard also enables note taking for each shot, timecode sync with multiple cameras and more.

The Telepromt+ is similar to a professional teleprompter as it provides your on-camera talent script support for copy that is usually too long to memorize. It is easy to edit, just cut and paste your copy from any source and edit it as needed. It’s easy to change the size of the type and speed of delivery. I use an iPad tripod support to place the Telepromt+ just below the camera lens making the read more believable and sincere.

Both of the apps are well worth the nominal investment and can really help you make video production easier.

Let us know how we can help you with your next video project!
