2 iPhone Video Tips for Better Holiday Videos
The HD video you can get on the iPhone looks great, but keep in mind that the audio quality suffers when the room is full of people talking, dogs barking and children laughing. Learn about iPhone video tips we use in the office and working at home!
Audio quality makes a big difference when watching your video, so you might want to invest in an external mic for your phone. I like the TASCAM iM2 and it works with an iPhone, iPad or iPod and provides much better quality audio. ($80 online)
The stability of the video shot is important too. The iStabilizer Flex Smartphone tripod is an inexpensive option that you can place almost anywhere. With your hands free, you can be part of the fun! The iStabilizer has lots of other products that include iPhone zoom lenses, remote controls and more. ($40 online)
Putting Sacramento on the Map
This really hit me last week when attending two events that I was lucky enough to get to play a role in as a social media manager and adviser – The Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce’s Networking Nexus and Verge Center for the Art’s TV Dinner, were both events to brag about. First I got to be part of setting a world record at Networking Nexus, recognized by Guinness World Records as the LARGEST speed-networking event on EARTH, then I spent the rest of the evening enjoying Sacramento’s fine dining and arts culture at the sold-out TV Dinner, a collaboration between Verge artists and Selland’s Executive Chef, Mike Thiemann.
While I have always been a fan of our charming city, I feel like the rest of the world (OK, maybe the state, but still) is finally catching on – Sacramento is finally becoming a destination – a “cool” place.
– Leidhra Johnson, Social Media Manager
Uptown Studios’ role in both TV Dinner and Networking Nexus was to expand each client’s audience and help them meet or beat their event attendance goals in a short time period. We tackled this challenge head-on through accelerated media outreach and social media marketing, including customized messages and advertisements.
The social media marketing campaigns for each project had great results and we were beyond pleased to see that our hard work, in collaboration with the even harder work of our clients, literally paid off!
I feel privileged to have been a part of both of these events. I love loving my job and celebrating successes with clients. I walked home from TV Dinner last Thursday night high on life, feeling blessed to be part of such a culturally diverse city and grateful to work for a company so involved in the Sacramento community!
Tina’s Two Bits
I recently learned of the Children’s Law Center of California. What a wonderful organization! They serve as the voice for over 3,000 abused and neglected youth in Sacramento. Volunteers are needed this holiday season to deliver toys, clothing, food and to help prepare gift baskets.
